US20 W. 4.5 miles from jct with US7 in Pittsfield to the barn on the S. side of the road. Shaker, true round, stone walls 3' thick at the base, 2' thick at the top, 16 sided penthouse w/louvered 15' octagon cupola, low pitch conical roof, excellent condition, restored in 1968.
MA-02-02   Pittsfield 36' 1850s ?   Octagon house at 58 Union St. 2 story frame with 4" clapboard & cupola. The simple cornice has 4 sawed wood brackets on each side. The cupola was removed when the house was restored.

MA-05-02   Danvers   1857 ?   Octagon house at 148 Locust St. Built to a design by 85-year-old Mrs. Sarah Nurse. The walls were built of grout made according to a formula brought from England. The cupola was removed in 1945.

MA-05-05   Rowley   1960s 12-2004 N42 43.94 W70 54.10 NW of Rowley, Rowley Township. MA133 W. 1.6 miles from jct with MA1A in Rowley, N. on US1 1.9 miles to the house on the W. side of the road. True round dome house, green, dormer for entrance, no cupola. It was initially a cheese store and then was a shop for a guy that was doing chainsaw carving. It looks to be used for just storage now.

MA-06-05   Ashfield   1820 ?   Round schoolhouse, brick. The simple cornice was made by successively projecting 3 or 4 courses of brick. The double-hung windows consisted of eight over eight sash. The chimney is located near the wall line which indicates the stove was located at the rear wall.

MA-09-06   Townsend   1860 ?   Round house in town. 16 sided, build using made in a local brickyard. It sits on a 2 foot high gray granite base and the window sills are made of the same material.
MA-09-07   W. Townsend 30.5' 1860s ?   Round house located 2 miles E. (or W.?) of Townsend. 16 sided, 2 story, with each section being six feet long. There is a high octagonal cupola with 2 windows.
MA-09-08   E. Northfield (Franklin Cty?)     ?   Octagon house on the right side of the E. Northfield (Franklin County?)-Winchester (NH?) highway, near Wanamaker Pond (lake - Franklin County?).

E. 0.75 miles from jct with PA58 in Plympton, SE on Mayflower Rd. 100' to the house on the W. side of the road at 82. Steven Ziglar, true round house, cream horizontal siding, flat roof, octagon windowed cupola, 4 porches. Built for Isaac Washburn by a ship builder. The original round stone home collapsed and was replaced in 1859 by the current wooden structure.

MA-14-01 Worcester Dudley   ca 1850 ?   Round house (12 sided) in town. Built by Zephaniah Baker, who advocated that 12 sides were better than 8 sides because the interior receives more direct sunlight, which gives color to the blood. The house was built for 2 families and was divided through the center by a hall. A skylight has replaced the cupola.

MA-14-04   Farnusville   1855 ?   Octagon house. It has a high basement and is considered to be a 3 story house. It has a cupola. (No such town, but internet search turned up a possible Farnumville which may now be Grafton http://www.state.ma.us/sec/cis/cisuno/unoidx.htm - DJT)
MA-14-05   Fitchburg   1848 Gone GONE Octagon house at the corner of Main & Grove Sts. The brick house was built as a residence and dental office. It was demolished in 1925.
