This was the first round barn built in Fulton County and was built for Elmer and Lola (Kindig) Wideman by the wife's relatives, the Kindigs. This started the Kindigs building round barns. They built many more round barns in Fulton and surrounding counties. C.V. Kindig Construction consisted of the father Charles Vallandingham ("Lan") Kindig and his sons, Cleve ("Pete"), Roy, and Oral ("Hap" - short for Happy because he was always smiling.)

The year 1912 was painted on the side of the barn, which was destroyed by fire in the late summer of 1941. It was located north of Athens on 650E. The Kindigs built the barn for O. S. Goss. James H. Hutchinson bought the barn from Goss.

There are wooden pegs that hold all major beams together.
