The ZGS magnet ready to be moved from Argonne National Laboratory to the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center in November 1979. It took 17 days to make the trip with the 107 ton superconducting magnet 18’ diameter & 13’ high. Photos 10-31-79.

The truck is a custom built Kenworth W900 with a 450hp CAT diesel engine with a Spicer 24-speed compound transmission. It pulls a 15 axle trailer with the magnet.
