(Bunker Hill, 85', 1894, 33-18-01) across Lyle Creek E. of Claremont, Catawba Township, Catawba County, NC. About 2 miles east of Claremont, and can be reached by a marked foot trail. The trail is located at Conner Park on old US 70. The bridge was built as an open span bridge, but was covered around 1900 and restored in 1994. The bridge was fastened together with wooden pegs and is still sturdy today. The bridge is on the old Island Ford Rd., which was an old Indian trail.
