(Bell Farm, 64' (19.5m), 1882, SK-03-01) N. of Indian Head, South East County, Saskatchewan. Hwy 56 N. 1 mile (1.6km) from jct with Hwy 1 (Trans Canada Hwy) at Indian Head. The barn stands about 50 feet west of Hwy 56, so is very visible to anyone driving by. Originally designed as a horse stable, hence the small air vents. When it became a dairy barn in the 1920s, more light was needed to milk the cows, and the larger windows were installed. They need to raise about a million dollars to rebuild the barn, and to incorporate tourist and parking facilities [www.bellbarn.ca]. (9-26-06) Top 4 photos by Frank Korvemaker.
